London Bridge leads to Rabbit Holes . . . and Google Translate of it.

 I was looking for the verses to London Bridge that I remembered from when I was little.  I remembered, "take the key and lock her up," after putting the fun verses about the materials and why they wouldn't work.   Then I wondered what it meant and that got me to search and it seems to be about the practice of immurement.  Immurement is enclosing a body in a building or structure so that the structure has strength and stability.  Yes, the person dies inside and rots inside the structure.  It was a form of torture.

Then I remembered some lyrics of a Jonathan Rundman song that goes, "That there is Chopin's heart," and I looked up if Chopin's heart was in the walls of a church.

Apparently, Chopin wished his heart to be returned to his native Poland if he wasn't there when he died.  Chopin died in Paris and his heart was preserved in alcohol and smuggled back to Poland.  It seems from what I'm reading that Chopin's heart is in a jar behind a memorial plaque in Holy Cross Church in Warsaw, Poland.

It's still there, but in 2014, it was exhumed for study to see if there were clues into Chopin's death.  Researchers think it points to tuberculosis.

Anyway, here are my lyrics to London Bridge:

London Bridge is falling down

Falling down, falling down

London Bridge is falling down

My fair lady

Build it up with wood and clay,

Wood and clay, wood and clay.

Build it up with wood and clay,

My fair lady.

Wood and clay will wash away,

Wash away, wash away,

My fair lady.

Build it up with iron bars

Iron bars, iron bars

Build it up with iron bars

My fair lady

Iron bars will bend and break

Bend and break, bend and break

Iron bars will bend and break

My fair lady

Build it up with silver and gold

Silver and gold, silver and gold

Build it up with silver and gold

My fair lady

Silver and gold will be stolen away,

Stolen away, stolen away

Silver and gold will be stolen away,

My fair lady.

London Bridge is falling down

Falling down, falling down

London Bridge is falling down

My fair lady

London Bridge is falling down

Falling down, falling down

London Bridge is falling down

My fair lady

And here they are after being run through way too many language in Google Translate:

Little London is shining. Don't be afraid, don't be afraid. Little London is shining. My wife is beautiful.

Made of wood and stone.

Green hammer, green hammer.

Made of wood and stone.

My daughter is beautiful.

Brick and cement;

My name, my father's name;

My daughter is beautiful.

Made of iron.

The trunk, my daughter.

He builds a wooden house.

My wife is beautiful.

The stone is shining.

Change it to something else, change it to something else.

The kitchen is beautiful and clean.

My wife is beautiful.

Build a house of gold and silver.

Chandi, or Mira, or Mira.

Build a house of gold and silver.

My wife is beautiful.

She gave gold and silver;

She was famous and important.

He gave her gold and silver;

He gave her gold and silver;

She was famous and important.

He gave her gold and silver;

My daughter is beautiful. Little London is shining. Don't be afraid, don't be afraid.

Little London is shining. My wife is beautiful.

Little London is shining. Don't be afraid, don't be afraid. Little London is shining. My wife is beautiful.
